EPA has been working with the Center for Disease Control (CDC) since 2006 on the School Health Policies and Practices Study (SHPPS). SHPPS is a national survey periodically conducted to assess school health policies and practices at the state, district, school, and classroom levels. The most recent data shows that school districts are taking action to reduce IAQ risks. About 50% of the nation’s school districts have an effective IAQ management plan in place – 80% are based on EPA’s Indoor Air Quality Tools for Schools guidance.
